Production Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor leads coworkers ensures the workforce efficiently and effectively completes work to meet goals and KPI metrics in designated Departments.  The individual in this position organizes tasks and projects, communicates work related issues or downtime, and works with plant leadership to reschedule production when issues arise.  The Production Supervisor trains and assesses coworker performance, and collects, compiles and distributes production and food safety data.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures that workforce in designated departments efficiently and effectively completes work assignments
Supervises coworkers in designated departments, including resolution of co-worker conflicts
Leads coworkers, performs staff evaluations and ensures work deadlines are accomplished
Communicates work related issues including downtime or scheduling problems to Plant Management immediately
Conducts DuPont STOP observations
Enforces all safety policies and programs i.e. LOTO, Confine Space Entry, HAZCOM, PPE, etc.
Ensures coworker training and follows through on Six Sigma, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement , or ROE initiatives.
Follows company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety programs.
Collects, compiles and distributes production and food safety data
Follows Quality Assurance, Food Safety and SQF Certification requirements, including requirements from 3rd party customer audits
Develops and maintains good working relationships with Quality, Maintenance and warehouse departments
Ensure compliance with USDA requirement and interacts appropriately with the USDA inspector.
Establishes and monitors co-worker performance and developmental goals, assigns accountabilities, sets objectives, establishes priorities, conducts annual performance appraisals and administers wage adjustments as required

A trained designee will be appointed by management to cover for absences or vacancies; refer to Rembrandt Foods site-specific facility back-up matrix on file.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
2 years’ manufacturing supervisory experience
Excellent communication skills-ability to effectively communicate information-departmental and pre-shift meetings..
Mathematical Skills:  Logical, Analytical, Percentages, Fractions, Moderate Algebra
Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Internet, Touch Screens
Independent Self-Starter/Team Player/Good leadership skills
Awareness and knowledge of surroundings in relation to climate, atmosphere and equipment
Knowledge of basic chemical usage and safety
Efforts and work beyond standard business hours that include nights and weekends
Analytical abilities to find waste, identify yield losses, suggest solutions, and problem solve
Advanced English:  fluent  in speaking, reading and writing

4 year degree in related field – engineering, food science, dairy manufacturing, etc.
Food manufacturing supervisory experience
Bilingual - Spanish
Continuous Improvement experience, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or 5S.
USDA experience
HTST, Membrane systems, Drying, and/or ESL experience.

Rubber boots, frocks, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair/beard nets, respirator mask, hard hat
Forklift, Pallet lift
Hand tools, power tools
Large push broom, kitchen pull broom, squeegee, floor mop, high-pressure wand, air hoses

Takes appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system.
Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits
Performs other tasks as assigned
