Complex Manager

The Site Complex Manager oversees manages and leads all functions of operations at the Rembrandt, site, including i) all plant activities (e.g. the plant’s pasteurizing, RO, packaging, tanker bay and dryers, all further processing operations, feed mill, as well as for managing critical in plant support functions such as maintenance, sanitation and quality), and ii) all functions of operations at the Rembrandt Layer Site, including layers, shell recovery, littler management, and iii) all egg-breaking facilities and operations. This position has full P&L accountability is responsible for financial objectives and timely reporting of those objectives. The key challenge is to maintain production within specific guidelines for production efficiency, food safety requirements, quality assurance requirements, labor cost, product rework, shrink, and control of on-hold product.  The Site complex Manager leads all coworkers to achieve performance expectations and partners closely with Human Resources, Safety, Environmental, and Animal Welfare as appropriate.  The individual in this position is expected to be available to support the site on a 24/7 basis.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage pasteurizer, dryer, tanker bay, and packaging equipment to optimize productivity and proper use of equipment
  •  Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures
  • Manages operations of layers, shell recovery, litter management, and egg-breaking facilities
  • Coordinate plant activities (e.g. production, maintenance, quality, safety) through the planning with departmental managers to ensure total operational objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Continuously improve customer satisfaction through programs to reduce delinquencies, provide for on-time delivery, and meet customer quality and cost expectations. Actively seek customer interfaces to communicate and facilitate customer needs within the organization
  •  Oversee development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the QF 2000 System to maintain the integrity of the system
  • Interact with Quality Control and the USDA to support food safety requirements, quality and yield consistency
  • Interact with community city officials/population
  • Ensure sanitation, plant orderliness and promote GMPs
  • Lead the development and implementation of Food Safety Fundamentals, Food Safety Plan, and the Food Quality Plan
  • Meet food grade quality and safety standards for Rembrandt Foods products
  • Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring
  • Accountable for financial objectives and reporting – including developing and managing annual budgets
  • Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards
  • Implements cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, wages, and salaries
  • Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, repair, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary
  • Maintains outside relationships with environmental regulatory agencies
  • Manages biosecurity protocol implementation and achievement of animal welfare objectives
  • Leads and implements continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manages/develops coworker performance, coworker meetings, and works with human resources, as appropriate
  • Responsible for employee engagement and retention in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Establishes and monitors coworker performance and developmental goals, assigns accountabilities, sets objectives, establishes priorities, conducts performance appraisals, and administers salary adjustments as required
